Academic Societies
Ashoka Economics Society
The Ashoka University Economics Society actively contributes to the dialogue around economics in Ashoka. We aim to take economics beyond the classroom and get the students to start thinking about ideas that are relevant to the issues around us and the ones that inspire us. It is our vision to make the subject more accessible to students and inspire them to engage with ideas beyond the confines of our courses.
Ashoka History Society
The Ashoka History Society aims to take discussions on history outside the confines of classrooms and seminars and engage with people who may be outside of the discipline. We wish to make history as a field accessible to all students by engaging in both academic and non-academic tools, and to provide a forum where all people passionate about History can engage, debate and facilitate learning.

Ashoka PPE
Society
The Philosophy Politics and Economics Society at Ashoka University aims to bridge the gap between the disciplines, within and outside of the university. The discipline, albeit interdisciplinary in its nature, is fundamentally viewed from a unitary or binary lens that obscures its true interconnectedness. The true depth of the discipline lies in its ability to inspire thought – the society wishes to carry forw...
Ashoka Philosophy Society
The Philosophy Society aims to make philosophy more accessible by illustrating how it is intrinsically linked, not only to the liberal arts, but to the process of thinking in general. Through our diverse & unorthodox events, we persevere to prove that the subject is not abstruse: it does not lie solely in the domain of dead white men who would use 'abstruse' instead of 'obscure', for no good reason.

This n...
Ashoka Sociology-Anthropology Society
Anthroposoc is Ashoka’s academic Society for Anthropology and Sociology. We began as a small group of students who had found more than academia through our study of the discipline — we had found a new and exciting way of looking at the world. The society aims to help both students within the department and outside to get to know about and form a deeper relationship with the discipline.
